Each year, nearly 400,000 users pass through the doors of the Poséidon Sports Complex. This constant appeal is primarily due to the diversity of the sports activities offered, which are regularly adapted to meet public expectations and supervised by qualified professionals. Together with the management, we ensure that activities are accessible to everyone, regardless of age or sports level.
Beyond this varied offering, we pay special attention to the maintenance and continuous improvement of infrastructure and equipment. Every year, renovation and modernization work is undertaken to ensure high-performance facilities that meet the needs of our users.
All these improvements are part of a rigorous financial management approach and an eco-responsible strategy. Aware of today’s environmental challenges, we have launched several initiatives aimed at reducing our ecological footprint, such as roof insulation, façade renovation, the installation of photovoltaic panels, the placement of new ventilation systems, and the replacement of lighting with LED technology.
These measures will significantly reduce our energy consumption while preserving the comfort and quality of the facilities for our users. The municipality and the complex’s managers are committed to continuing this momentum by integrating these efforts into the Climate Plan set up by the municipality, an initiative led by Mayor Olivier Maingain and my colleague Gregory Matgen, Alderman for Municipal Buildings and Sustainable Development.
At the same time, other advancements have been made in recent years. The aquatic facilities have been equipped with a brand-new UV water filtration system, resulting in a healthier environment. Furthermore, as part of an inclusive approach, an elevator has been integrated into the building, ensuring that people with reduced mobility now have access to all rooms and facilities within the sports center. Finally, a brand-new dojo and a state-of-the-art dance hall have been built for martial arts clubs and the Rythm & Dance school, allowing them to continue their development in larger, more modern, and well-adapted spaces.
The municipality of Woluwe-Saint-Lambert and the managers of the Poséidon Sports Complex will continue to do everything possible to make the user experience as enjoyable as possible.
